Eamon was born in Monaghan and spent much of his childhood living with his grandmother after his mother moved to the UK. From a young age, he showed remarkable responsibility, starting to work at 13 years old to help support his grandmother and his brother Bryan.
Eamon had two other brothers, John and Mick, and a sister Maureen, who all spent the majority of their lives in the UK although Mick came to live on the isle and worked alongside Eamon for many years. His early experiences shaped his character, instilling in him a strong work ethic and a deep sense of loyalty to his family, values he carried with him throughout his life.
